So, 2011 has now passed, and 2012 has begun. I looked over the first post I made nearly a year ago on this blog just now; a year ago, I thought I might have graduated by now, but it didn’t quite work out that way. But here I am, now on the main stretch and set to do or die by April. I can technically extend into the summer semester if I need to, but I think it’s time to put this graduate degree to rest and let it rest in peace.

I hope this blog has been informative and interesting without getting repetitive or mundane or even too technical at times. As I’ve said before, I don’t typically make New Year’s resolutions, but one of my goals for 2011 was to regularly maintain a blog. I intended to write every day, which eventually settled into every work day, or five times a week. I backed off a few months ago in order to give me a little more time to focus on my final research and writing, but I feel pleased about succeeding at my resolution for 2011. Though I have technically accomplished my goal for last year, I do intend to keep on with it. Many goals fall by the wayside, but I try really hard not to make goals that I am not prepared to keep…you’ve probably determined that if you’ve read most of my blog posts. 😉 It’s surprising how goal-oriented the blog has turned out to be, particularly with Goal of the Week and monthly challenges that I’ve shared with you. I never considered myself much of a goal-setter before, but I guess I just naturally do it in my own way, not in ways I’m used to seeing them presented.

I’ve already discussed my flexibility challenge for 2012, and we’re all obviously aware of my major professional goal! I also have a handful of personal challenges I intend to do throughout the year, so 2012 should be another year of growing, moving forward, and making meaningful changes.

Since today was the federal observance of New Year’s Day since it fell on Sunday, I had yet another day off. However, the final push to the end begins tomorrow!
